GET
Get an automation
Pass the automation ID in the path and its account_id in the query string. Your API key needs automations:read and access to that account. The response contains the editable name and the complete configuration, plus status, trigger_type, and timestamps. trigger_type reports the kind of Instagram activity the automation listens to and is derived from the configuration, so you do not set it directly. When a live automation has unpublished edits, has_unpublished_changes is true, draft_updated_at holds the last draft change, and the returned configuration is that draft. Publish it with Activate an automation.

Read the compatibility flag

authoring_compatibility tells you whether the automation can be edited through the public contract: A read_only_legacy automation still reports its id, name, status, trigger_type, and timestamps, and it still runs. You can rename it, and you can convert it by sending a complete configuration through Update an automation.

Keep the version

Keep the returned updated_at value. You must pass it as expected_updated_at when you update, activate, deactivate, or delete the automation. This prevents one client from overwriting a newer change. This is a safe read operation, so you can retry it without changing the automation.
