# Connect Hermes Agent

> Add levios as a remote MCP server in Hermes Agent.

<Note>
  Available tools and activation support depend on your current connection. After
  connecting, ask the agent to check the available operations before creating an
  automation.
</Note>

## Add the server

Hermes Agent reads MCP servers from its configuration under the `mcp_servers`
key. Add this entry:

```yaml theme={null}
mcp_servers:
  levios:
    url: "https://levios.app/api/mcp"
    auth: oauth
```

Leave the transport unset. Hermes Agent defaults to streaming HTTP, which is
what levios serves. Set `transport: sse` only if you have a specific reason to,
and expect reduced functionality.

## Authorize the connection

On the first connection, Hermes Agent opens a browser window for authorization.
Sign in to levios, review the permissions and Instagram accounts, then approve
the request. Hermes Agent persists the token and refreshes it automatically.

After editing the configuration, reload the servers:

```text theme={null}
/reload-mcp
```

Hermes Agent identifies itself through its own published client metadata, so you
do not need to register a client ID for each installation.

See [the Hermes Agent MCP configuration reference](https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs/reference/mcp-config-reference)
for the current keys and token storage paths.

## Verify access

Ask Hermes Agent to list your levios accounts or automations. Hermes Agent
prefixes tool names with the server name, so the levios tools appear as
`mcp_levios_list_accounts` and similar.

The result must contain only accounts included in the grant. Tools that need
permissions you did not approve will not appear.

If the server has no tools, open **Settings > MCP** in levios and check its
status, permissions, and account access. Revoke the connection and start again
if you need to choose a different permission set.

Do not set a bearer token or a client certificate on this entry. The browser
authorization flow supplies the credential.
