# Connect Grok Bot

> Reach levios from Grok Bot through a custom MCP connector.

<Note>
  Available tools and activation support depend on your current connection. After
  connecting, ask the agent to check the available operations before creating an
  automation.
</Note>

## What this page assumes

Grok Bot is xAI's agent. It runs on a hosted machine and can use connectors and
MCP tools. xAI documents adding a custom MCP connector at `grok.com/connectors`,
but its connector guide does not say whether Grok Bot picks up a custom
connector added there, and published third-party accounts disagree on the point.

levios has not tested it. Treat the steps below as the path most likely to work
rather than a confirmed one.

## Add the connector

Follow [Connect Grok](/mcp/grok). The connector is added on the same surface:

1. Open `https://grok.com/connectors`.
2. Select **New Connector**, then **Custom**.
3. Enter `https://levios.app/api/mcp` as the MCP server URL.
4. Complete the authentication step and approve the levios request.

Then start a Grok Bot task and ask it to list your levios accounts.

## Verify access

This client needs more verification than the others, not less.

A successful connection must complete browser authorization and return an
authenticated result from a levios read tool inside a Grok Bot task. A connector
that appears in `grok.com/connectors`, or that works in a normal Grok chat, does
not prove Grok Bot itself can call it.

If Grok Bot reports no levios tools, the connector is reaching Grok but not the
agent. Open **Settings > MCP** in levios to confirm whether an authorization was
recorded at all. A grant with no tool calls against it means the authorization
completed and the agent never used it.

## Scope the grant narrowly

Grok Bot acts on its own across many steps. Approve the smallest permission set
that does the job, and prefer read permissions until you have seen it behave
correctly. You can pause or revoke the connection from **Settings > MCP** in
levios at any time. Pausing keeps permitted reads available and blocks changes.

Never paste an API key or bearer token. The browser authorization flow supplies
the credential.
